A man is to stand trial accused of killing a pigeon by ripping its head off with his bare hands.
Jonathon Leslie is alleged to have caught the bird in Abbey Park, St Andrews, Fife, on September 10 last year.
The 23-year-old is charged with intentionally or recklessly killing a wild bird by removing its head with his hands.
Leslie, of Morningside Grove, Aberdeen, denied the charge during a hearing at Cupar Sheriff Court on Friday.
Sheriff Charles Macnair ordered Leslie to stand trial in April.
