A middle-aged couple caught having sex on a bench next to a children's playpark have been put on the sex offenders register.
Ann-Marie Townsley, 42, and Fred Mills, 50, had sex in broad daylight at South Inch park in Perth when it was filled with mothers taking children home from school, dog walkers and joggers.
The pair only stopped when Mills ran after a dog walker who told them to quit, on September 20 last year.
At Perth Sheriff Court on Friday, Mills and Townsley admitted committing an act of public indecency by engaging in sexual intercourse. Mills also admitted placing an eye witness in a state of fear and alarm by behaving in a disorderly manner.
Fiscal depute Carol Whyte said: "The park is in close proximity to Perth town centre. It is a popular area for dog walkers, joggers and people taking young children to the play park.
"At the time of this incident it was busy and they were in full view of people nearby."
When he was arrested, Mills said to police: "I was having sex with my girlfriend. Are you not allowed to shag these days?"
Solicitor Grant Bruce told the court that Townsley had been drunk and remembered little of the event.
He said: "She had taken so much alcohol that she thought she was existing in a bubble where she didn't think other people were around."
The dog walker, who does not want to be named, said: "It was about 4.15pm and you don't expect to see people doing that. I had to look twice because I just couldn't believe what they were doing.
"When I shouted at him he shouted back to me 'are you jealous because you're not getting any?' Another girl and her boyfriend were walking past and they called the police."
Sheriff Fiona Tait placed the pair, who both live at St Catherines Road, Perth, on the sex offenders register and deferred sentence for background reports.
