Lorna Grant: Described as an "inspirational" teacher.

A teacher who died in a road smash in Fife over the weekend has been named by police.

Lorna Grant, who was originally from Glenrothes but lived and worked in Dundee, died following an accident on the A92 near Cupar on Sunday afternoon.

The 34-year-old, who taught at Dundee’s Fintry Primary School, was described on Monday by colleagues as a “wonderful, inspirational teacher”.

A statement released by Lorna’s family said: “Lorna was an amazing girl, talented in so many ways.

“She loved the outdoors, walking, climbing and travelling. She was fluent in Spanish having worked as a designer for SEAT (Barcelona) for five years.

“On returning to Scotland she changed career and became an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher. She was a perfectionist in everything she did, but at the same time always caring and supportive.

“We are all devastated by this sudden loss.”

Lorna died after her Renault Clio was involved in an accident with a people carrier, containing a driver and five children. All of the children, aged under 10, were said to be in a stable condition.
