Woman dies after fatal accident on A90

A 45-year-old woman has died after being hit by a lorry on the A90 between Perth and Dundee.

Tayside police said the accident happened about 2050 GMT on Friday night near to the junction with Star Inn Road after the woman got out of a taxi.

The eastbound side of the dual carriageway was closed for most of Saturday morning along with one lane of the westbound carriageway. Diversions were put in place via Longforgan village.

Officers investigating the incident said they would like to trace any taxi drivers who dropped off a female passenger on the Western outskirts of Dundee - possibly in the Bullionfield, Benvie or Liff area - prior to the time of the accident.
