A Scottish war hero who was killed in Afghanistan has been remembered at a funeral service held at a church in Glasgow.
Acting Sergeant Michael Lockett MC was killed in the Gereshk district of Helmand Province last month by an improvised explosive device.
The father-of-three, from Monifieth, was awarded the Military Cross in 2007 after displaying "selfless commitment and unshakeable bravery" during a Taliban surprise attack in Garmsir.
"Locky", then a platoon sergeant, lead the rescue of several wounded comrades who were pinned down by enemy fire. His fearless work lead to him receiving one of the nation's highest gallantry awards.
The 29-year-old was killed as he was nearing the end of his third tour of Afghanistan. Two others were injured in the blast.
Originally from, Angus, Sgt Lockett joined 1st Battalion The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment (1 WFR) in Tidworth in 1996. He was serving with the 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment when he died.
His girlfriend, Belinda English, said after his death: "We miss him desperately and there is now a gap in our ranks that will be so very difficult to fill."
His parents, Mal and April, added: "We are immensely proud of Mike - he was everything that we could ever have wanted in a son and was a devoted father to Connor, Chloe and Courtney. He was always positive, and always seemed larger than life."
Lieutenant Colonel Simon Banton, Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Worcesters and Foresters), said: "The Mercian Regiment has lost one of its brightest and its best, and a true hero. Sergeant Lockett MC was one of the most impressive soldiers I have ever met."
