Black Watch soldier to be laid to rest in Dundee

The funeral of a Scottish soldier killed whilst on patrol in Afghanistan is to be held in Dundee.

Private Kevin Elliot of the Black Watch 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland was killed on the August 31, 2009.

He died along with Sergeant Stuart Millar from Inverness in a rocket propelled grenade attack while on foot patrol in Helmand province.

He had previously served in Iraq and Northern Ireland and had joined the army in 2002.

A service will be held at St Marys Church in Dundee.

The funeral will be a Full Military Funeral with Firing Party.

Meanwhile, the funeral of Sergeant Stuart Millar will be held on September 17 in Inverness.
