RAF Leuchars is gearing up to host the country's biggest airshow on Saturday.
The fine weather forecast for the weekend is set to make for perfect flying conditions with more than 50,000 visitors expected for the annual airborne extravaganza.
Top guns from all over the world have touched down in Fife for the annual battle of Britain at home day.
The highlight this year is undoubtedly the Avro Vulcan - the cold war era bomber due to perform its first display at Leuchars in 17 years.
The international flavour comes from across Europe and America with a wide variety of air display teams like the red arrows and the wing walkers of Team Guinot.
Also on display are a host of state-of-the-art fast jet fighters such as the F16 from Belgium.
Commandant Mitch Beulen from the Belgian Air Force said: “The worst bit is just taxiing out or walking in the crowd. Once you take off it’s just the display that counts – it’s the access, it’s the safety.
“We have to stay concentrated for 10-12 minutes, then usually after a safe landing I can look at the crowd but really, I don’t have time for that.”
As well as a host of jets from the 1950s and 1960s there is plenty of emphasis on yesteryear with a Second World War memorial flight of spitfire, hurricane and Lancaster providing an appropriate reminder of the RAF's role in the conflict marking 70 years since war broke out.
With around 10,000 cars expected, police are urging motorists to use public transport or take advantage of the two park and ride sites.
