A 19-year-old woman has died after a crash in Aberdeenshire.
The accident happened on the A981 road between Memsie and Strichen, near Memsie, late on Saturday night.
The woman who died was driving a black Ford Ka, heading north. It was involved in the collision with a silver Renault Megane, heading the other way.
Four passengers were seriously injured.
A spokesman for Grampian Police said: "As a result of the collision the 19-year-old female driver of the Ford Ka suffered fatal injuries."
"Four of the passengers were conveyed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance suffering from serious injuries."
The road was closed overnight as police examined the scene.
