Veronica Best: Funeral cancelled for post-mortem

A woman’s funeral was cancelled just days before it was due to be held to allow a post mortem examination to take place.

Relatives believe mother-of-three Veronica Best, 42, was repeatedly misdiagnosed by a number of GPs prior to her death on Sunday January 31.

They claim medics at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary found pneumonia, tuberculosis and clots in the barmaid from Peterhead – things missed by doctors.

Ms Best’s funeral was due to be held on Saturday but cancelled just two days before after the family were informed a post mortem examination would be carried out.
