Four people have been arrested in connection with a haul of drugs worth more than £20,000 seized by police in raids in the north of Scotland.
Heroin with a street value of £20,500 was seized from an address in Fraserburgh during a raid on Friday. A smaller quantity of cocaine and diazepam and a four figure sum of money were also recovered.
A 17-year-old female, a 37-year-old female and a 43-year-old male, all from the Fraserburgh area, and 19-year-old male from Liverpool have been arrested in connection with the seizure. They are due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Police also seized heroin worth £6,000 worth of heroin during a search on a car in Elgin on Friday night. A 47-year-old man from the Glasgow area and a 39-year-old Elgin woman were arrested in connection with the seizure and are expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court on Tuesday. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant McEwan, of Aberdeenshire Pro Active Unit said: "This seizure was a result of an ongoing intelligence-led operation which is specifically targeting drugs which are being brought into the Fraserburgh and Peterhead areas from England.
"This operation was successful due to the continued support of members of the public within the Banff and Buchan area. I would urge anyone with information regarding drug dealing in their area to contact Grampian Police."
