An Aberdeen furniture factory that employs around 30 disabled or blind workers is expected to announce that it has gone into administration.
The Glencraft factory has had a troubled recent history after Aberdeen City Council withdrew its funding package last year.
But the Authority agreed to buy the firm's factory and lease it back allowing them to continue trading.
However this week company bosses were told that the council could no longer back a revised buyout plan.
Workers have spoken about their fears for their own futures if the factory is to close.
One worker said: “I’m gutted. I’ve been here 18 years and it’s all I know. It’s very hard to take in.”
Local MP Anne Begg raised firm’s plight at Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday.
Aberdeen City Council say it has done everything it can do to support Glencraft but that it is no longer a viable business.
The company disputes the authority’s claim and say they can turn things around if afforded more time.
