Drivers in and around Aberdeen City and Shire are being advised to travel with care as heavy rainfall continues to affect roads.
Police are asking motorists to be vigilant for areas of lying water on all roads – a number of routes are understood to be affected by flooding.
In the Banchory area the B974 Cairnamount to Fettercairn (inc Strachan), B974 Feughside Inn and Cairn o’ mount and the B966 near to the B912 are all closed due to flooding.
Grampian Police say all other routes in and around Aberdeenshire and the routes in the Dee and Don Valleys to be affected by lying water to varying degrees.
Roads staff worked through the night to clear flooded areas but the sheer volume of water is making their task difficult.
Routes known to be affected include: A93 between Drumoak and Peterculter; A93 North Deeside Road, West of Marcliffe at Pitfodels; Kingswells to Cults Road (Blacktop Road); Great Southern Road, Southbound at Kincorth; Provost Watt Drive junction with Great Southern Road, Aberdeen; Kingswells to Bucksburn Road at Newhills Church; A944 Hazlehead to Westhill road; B9077 from Banchory to Netherly, B979 slug road at Lochton Court and Denhill stretch; unclassified road between Hill of Corsegight and Fedderate New Deer; A96 near Forret Brae; All routes around Aberdeen Airport; A90 near Northwater Bridge; B9126 – approx 1.5 miles east of Lynn of Skene; B977 at junction of A944 at Dunecht; B9170 between Oldmeldrum and Inverurie.
Tayside Police say many routes in Angus are also affected and drivers heading south should expect similar conditions and delays.
