Highland festival celebrates award nominations

One of the Highlands’ most successful music festivals is celebrating being nominated for four awards by releasing 500 tickets for next year’s festival this week.

Belladrum 2009 has been nominated for the Family Festival Award, The Grass Roots Festival Award (which Belladrum won last year), Best Medium-sized Festival and even the all important Best Festival Toilet award.

This year’s event was the biggest in the festival’s history with star acts Editors bringing proceedings to a close along with Ocean Colour Scene, Alabama 3 and Sons & Daughters.

Fans can vote for Belladrum by visiting the Festival Awards site by November 4 and could win tickets for 2010.

Next year’s festival will be held on August 6-7, and tickets will go on sale on Friday at the same price as for the previous two events.

These early bird tickets are available exclusively from The Ironworks or by calling 0871 7894173.

Belladrum takes place in the picturesque surroundings of Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Inverness-shire.

The independent festival has won plaudits for its off-beat non-musical entertainments and its all-ages approach.
