Two men charged over Aberdeenshire post office robbery

Two men have been charged in connection with an attempted robbery at an Aberdeenshire post office.

The two men, aged 19 and 20, both from Aberdeen, were arrested on Thursday by Grampian Police.

The attempted robbery happened at Raemoir Post Office, Banchory, on Tuesday.

Detective Inspector Alex Dowall said: "This type of incident is rare in the north east.

"We are glad we have been able to bring the enquiry to a swift conclusion.

"I would also like to thank the many members of the public who came forward with information to assist us in the investigation."
