Work will soon get underway on a new ASDA supermarket in Inverness after a roads wrangle was resolved.
An agreement has been reached which will see the supermarket giant contribute £1.5million to road improvements at the Slackbuie site provided traffic increases beyond a certain point.
Plans for the superstore were approved by the Scottish Government following a public inquiry.
Highland Council says today's agreement is good news for the city.
Councillor Michael Foxley said: "The agreement is the crunch point - a ten per cent increase in traffic will trigger the road improvement works.
“There is a more detailed programme of just when the survey work takes place, there's a base-line to be established before the store opens and then monitoring during the first few weeks of the store opening."
Around 400 jobs are expected to be created by the new £25.5million store.
The store will be the first ASDA branch in Inverness which has been dubbed ‘Tesco Town’ by many due to their vast number of outlets in the area.
