Climber falls 100ft on Isle of Skye

A rescue operation is underway after a climber sustained a head injury after falling around 50-100ft while climbing on the Isle of Skye.

The incident occurred on the southeast ridge of Sgurr Nan Gillean, Cuillins, at around 1.45pm on Monday afternoon.

The coastguard's Rescue 100 helicopter and Skye Mountain Rescue Team are at the scene.

The man was due to be flown to Broadford Hospital in Skye for treatment.

The extent of his injuries are not yet known.
