Plans for a bypass linking the west side of Inverness with the A82 have taken a step forward.
Councillors have considered the eight options for a new multi-million pound bypass and chosen their favourite three.
A new high-level bridge crossing the River Ness and Caledonian Canal is among the preferred options.
The plans aim to take traffic from the city's Southern Distributor Road to the A82, bypassing the city centre.
The scheme had been reduced to five options but was later increased to eight following representations from the public.
The three remaining proposals will go before councillors again next month, before recommendations are made at a full council meeting in March.
