A man is being held in connection with an alleged theft from a jewellery store in Inverness.

The 32-year-old was arrested by police in Stirling on Tuesday over the incident which happened at a shop in the city’s Bridge Street last week.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal Inverness.

On Monday a 29-year-old woman appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court in connection with the same theft.

Mandita Anghel, 29, from Dunfermline, appeared from custody and made no plea or declaration.

Ms Anghel was arrested at the weekend in Fife and appeared in private before Sheriff Ian Abercrombie and was committed for further examination.
