Two people have died in a three vehicle crash in the Highlands.
The collision happened on the A9, two miles north of Dalwhinnie, at Cruben Moor, just after 7:00pm on Thursday.
A man died at the scene and three casualties were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by ambulances.
One of the casualties, a woman, died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The driver of a third car sustained slight injuries.
The road was closed until midnight while an investigation into the cause of the collision was carried out. It is anticipated that the road will reopen shortly after midnight.
