The RAF came to the rescue of Take That trio Gary Barlow, Jason Orange and Howard Donald following Mark Owen’s wedding in a Highland church at the weekend.

The threesome, were due to fly out of Inverness Airport on Monday morning following the bash at Cawdor Castle near Inverness.

However freezing fog enveloped the runways preventing any aircraft, from taking off or landing.

But the pop stars ticket home came in the unlikely guise of RAF Lossiemouth which offered landing facilities for the band’s in their private 17 seater Lear Jet. They were swiftly driven the 34 miles to the Moray base to board their plane.

Military Police met the entourage at the gates, checked their security level and escorted them into the military base to complete their journey back south.

On Sunday the streets of the sleepy Highland village of Cawdor were flanked by hundreds of fans desperate to catch a glimpse of their heroes.

Owen arrived alongside fellow Take That members Gary Barlow, Jason Orange and Howard Donald, and all four were happy to stop and wave to fans.

Mark wore a purple velvet suit with a traditional top hat while his band mates dressed in a black tux suits with white ties.

The bride arrived fashionably late with her two bridesmaid, also in white, dressed in a beautiful v-neck white dress with a lace style veil.

There was no sign of former bandmate Robbie Williams, to the disappointment of the hundreds who had stood waiting for hours.

However, a number of fans waiting at the back of the church claimed to have seen him sneaking in a side door.

The couple and their children, Elwood and Willow Rose, were joined by a wedding party of about 50 however the service doors were closed to the media and it was strictly friends and family who got to enjoy the special event.

The couple decided that they wanted a low-key wedding, and it is understood that they refused offers from celebrity magazines to cover the wedding.

They are said to have chosen the Highland location after enjoying holidays in the area.
Actress Emma and her new husband smiled and waved at the crowd outside the church after the ceremony as the audience went wild with applause and cheering.

A reception was held at nearby Cawdor Castle following the service where the band were expected to sing.

Mark posted a message on the Internet saying: "No doubt once the boys have had a few drinks we will get into song."

The wedding was the biggest celebratory event in the Highlands since Madonna and Guy Ritchie tied the knot at Skibo Castle In 2000 and had their son Rocco christened at nearby Dornoch Cathedral.
