Falkirk Council is to launch a new online planning system to allow people to submit and check status of plans.
Locals will be able to have a closer look at developments and planning applications in their area by using the free system.
The new resource, which is accessed via the council's web page, has been developed as part of the Scottish Government's e-Planning initiative to provide a better level of service from planning authorities across Scotland.
The system is easy to use and members of the public can subscribe electronically to receive email notifications of planning applications in their area.
Every plan submitted online will be given a unique reference number that allows access to the application at any time.
The new system will also be of interest developers who wish to keep up to date with ongoing work and developments in the area.
Residents will also be able to make comments on proposed plans as part of the formal planning process.
