A leading Scottish gymnastics coach has gone on trial on 22 charges alleging indecent behaviour with children.
Mitchell Dolphin, 51, who coached gymnastics at the Lo-Gy Centre in Polton Road, Penicuik, Midlothian, pleaded not guilty to all the charges at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Mr Dolphin denies one breach of the peace charge, three charges of sexual assault and 18 of lewd and libidinous practices and behaviour.
The alleged offences, involving one boy and 14 girls, are said to have taken place over a 22-year period from April 1986 to February 2008.
It is alleged the offences took place in the Lo-Gy Centre, at Lasswade High School, and at Dolphin's former home in Polton Road.
It is further alleged that offences took place in his car and in a caravan at Seton Sands, East Lothian.
