The family of an 18-year-old who died after a car crash in Aberdeen have paid tribute to him saying he was the "light of our lives".

Conor Donald was killed when his red Fiat Punto collided with a van on the Beach Esplanade at 7.45am on Saturday.

The teenager, from the Newmachar area, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he later died of his injuries.

A statement released by the family said: “Our son Conor Donald had the kindest heart.

“All who knew him were touched by his generosity of spirit. He was the best son, brother, uncle, grandson, great grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

“Conor was so laid back and cheeky. Always trying to help, usually making things worse. His smile was the light of our lives. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.”

His death came two days after another teenager, Zoe Dunn, 18, from Aboyne, was killed when her car crashed on the B9077 South Deeside Road.
