Five arrests have been made over an alleged attack on a man as he walked home.
The 36-year-old was walking in Muir Street, Blantyre, on April 27 when he was hit with an object before being seriously injured by a group.
Strathclyde Police said on Friday that two men, aged 20 and 21, and two 17-year-old and one 19-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.
All five are presently in police custody in connection with the incident and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
They are expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court in connection with the alleged serious assault.
As a result of the incident the man was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.
