Signalling problems have led to limited train services between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
ScotRail said the route, which usually runs every 15 minutes, would be reduced to every half an hour.
Trains will leave Waverley at 15 and 30 minutes past the hour and leave Queen Street on the hour and half past.
Customers travelling between the two cities are being advised to use the route via Airdrie and Bathgate, which arrive and leave from Queen Street lower level station.
All services going into Glasgow Queen Street will be diverted via the Cumbernauld line.
Delays and cancellations can be expected and replacement buses have been ordered.
ScotRail did not know when the problems would be rectified.
