A missing Midlothian man returned home after last being seen more than two days before.
David Cairns had been reported missing from his house in Kevockvale Park, Lasswade, at around 1.30am on Saturday.
Since leaving, the 48-year-old had not been in touch with family or friends.
Lothian and Borders Police confirmed that he had been traced safe and well.
They said he returned to his home address in just after midnight on Tuesday.
A police spokesman thanked the public for their assistance during the missing person's inquiry.
