One man has died and another injured after the motorbike they were riding was involved in a mystery crash on a footpath.
A passing cyclist found the bike and its two passengers on the walkway leading from the old Big W car park in Milton Link on The Jewel, in Edinburgh.
The two men were lying next to the motorcycle when they were discovered at around 5.45am on Monday.
A 20-year-old had suffered serious injuries and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but pronounced dead on arrival. An 18-year-old was also taken to hospital for treatment for leg injuries.
The identity of the 20-year-old will not be released until next of kin have been informed.
Lothian and Borders Police believe the motorbike crashed into a tree. They are appealing for witnesses to the crash.
