A teenager has suffered an "extremely frightening" attack in which a robber threatened to pour corrosive liquid over her.
The 19-year-old was walking along Pollokshaws Road in Queens Park, Glasgow, when she was stopped by a man carrying a plastic bottle.
He threatened to squirt her with corrosive liquid unless she handed over money, then grabbed her purse and ran off towards Govanhill.
The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, 5ft 10in tall, with short black hair, sunken features and deep set eyes. He was wearing a grey hooded top with a white number 6 on the back, black trousers and white trainers.
The incident happened at around 6pm on Saturday.
Detective Constable Scott Brockie said: "This was a very nasty and extremely frightening ordeal for the young girl involved.
"Thankfully, she did not require hospital treatment but she is absolutely terrified by what has happened.
"A couple of people came to her aid and I would ask that they contact police as they might have information that will help us catch the man responsible."
