The historic East Kilbride Thistle Social Club has suffered “extensive damage” after a blaze ripped through the building.
Firefighters battled the fire at club, on Maxwell Drive in the Village, from 12.20pm on Friday (May 4).
Four fire engines attended the incident and the road was closed by police for the remainder of the afternoon.
A spokeswoman from Strathclyde Police said: “The fire at the property in Maxwell Drive caused extensive damage. There were no injuries and no-one was in the building at the time.
“There were no evacuations from neighbouring homes.”
The popular social club was to be the venue for a Claremont High Class of 1972 reunion on Saturday, May 5 which television presenter Lorraine Kelly is attending.
The nearby Village Inn has stepped in as a last minute replacement venue for the event, which has taken a year to plan.
It is thought more than 80 people from as far afield as Canada will attend the reunion.
