A man's body has been found in the River Nairn.
The discovery was made at around 7.30am on Sunday, near to the town's Merryton footbridge.
The man is aged between 30 and 45 years of age, 5ft 8in tall, with short cropped dark hair and wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man early on Saturday to contact them.
Officers also want to trace a male and female who were seen on the riverside footpath at the rear of Harbour Street, at around 6 am.
