Thousands of homes were without power for two hours on Monday after a fault at an electricity sub-station.
Scottish Power said customers in and around areas of the north west of Glasgow were affected following a "technical problem" at its Windy Hills transmission station.
Residents in the Partick, Hyndland, Drumchapel, Bearsden, Bishopbriggs and Milngavie areas were among those without power.
Homes in Clydebank, Dumbarton and Helensburgh were also affected, as were some customers in Argyll.
Traffic lights were not operating in some areas and the Glasgow underground stations in Kelvinhall and Partick were closed for over an hour.
A spokesman for Scottish Power said: "Customers in the north west of Glasgow and other areas have been affected by a technical fault at our Windy Hills sub-station around 4.30pm."
The energy provider stated just after 6pm that all power had been restored.
A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said traffic lights were affected in the north of Glasgow.
She said: "We are advising drivers to exercise caution and be patient."
Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service said it had received reports of people trapped in lifts in the city.
A spokesman added that crews had responded to "numerous" call-outs after the power cut triggered fire alarms.
