The jury in the trial of a man accused of murdering a businesswoman have been shown CCTV footage of two people walking near a park around the time of the crime.

The battered body of sales consultant Moira Jones, 40, was found by a ranger in Glasgow's Queens Park on May 29 last year.

Slovakian national Marek Harcar, 33, denies forcing her into the park and raping and murdering her.

Jurors at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday were shown CCTV footage from a camera mounted on the side of a bus which was driving past Queens Park.

Taken at 11.31pm on May 28, it showed a fleeting image of two figures walking alongside the park.

Detective Constable Colin Macritchie, from Strathclyde Police, studied the footage for the investigation and told the court the pair appeared to be around 50 metres from a park entrance.

Ms Jones's laptop computer was found in undergrowth near the park, the court also heard.

Mr Macritchie, 33, a fraud squad officer, said of the video: "It appears to show two figures, the taller one of which is near to the roadway.

"The taller figure has on light trousers, white footwear and dark upper clothing.

"There's a dark coloured object, a square object, possibly a bag, which would appear to be possibly underneath the left arm of the taller person."

He added: "The taller one has short, dark hair and the smaller one has longer dark hair. The taller figure appears to me to be leaning over in some way to the smaller figure."

Under questioning by Lord Advocate Elish Angiolini, prosecuting, he could not identify whether they were male or female. Mr Macritchie said he referred to them only as "persons".
