A search for a walker missing on a mountain trek is set to continue.
Robin Davies, 48, from the Inverness area, set off on a walk in the Cairngorm Mountains on Saturday with his Yorkshire terrier but failed to return when expected.
Police, mountain rescue teams and a helicopter from RAF Kinloss scoured the Glenfeshie area on Sunday night but failed to find any trace of the walker.
Northern Constabulary said Mr Davies, an experienced walker, had been on a solo hike.
Two Search and Rescue Dogs Association rescue dogs were drafted into the hunt along with mountain rescue teams from Tayside, Grampian and the Cairngorms. The RAF Helicopter from Kinloss also resumed the search on Monday.
A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said: "Police can confirm that they are looking for a 48-year-old male who has been described as an experienced walker."
Organisers of the search party have said Mr Davies was not equipped to be out overnight.
The Mountain Rescue Teams re-convened at first light on Tuesday.
