The Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Awards showcase the talent and achievements of Scots at home and on the international stage.
Mark Beaumont, a 25-year-old from Fife, cycled around the world in 195 days, breaking the previous record by a remarkable 81 days.
He started in Paris, then cycled to Istanbul and across to the Far East, via Bangkok and Singapore before crossing Australia and cycling the length of New Zealand.
He then crossed the Pacific, cycled across the USA and finished back in Europe.
Viewers were urged to vote for him as ‘Top Scot’ in the 2008 Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Awards.
