It has been revealed that UK Border Agency (UKBA) officers at Grangemouth have seized goods worth £3.6 million.
More that 14,000 items of counterfeit jewellery and handbags were found in three containers from China.
The officers found a range of items including fake Louis Vuitton as well as handbags with designer labels from Gucci, Mui Mui and Dolce and Gabbana also thought to be counterfeit.
A representative from Louis Vuitton has already checked the bags and confirmed that they were fake.
The other designer brands involved have been informed by the UKBA officers who are waiting for the items to be verified as counterfeits.
Senior detection manager for UKBA in eastern Scotland, Colin Fraser, told the Press and Journal: "This seizure at Grangemouth has prevented a large quantity of counterfeit goods from reaching the marketplace in the run-up to Christmas.
"We are determined to prevent this type of fake goods from reaching UK streets.
"This seizure at Grangemouth highlights our commitment in protecting legitimate trade and consumers from unscrupulous criminals and that our regional ports are not a soft touch."
