Boy, 12, has iPhone stolen by thief in violent playpark robbery

A 12-year-old boy was robbed of his smartphone in a violent attack in a playpark, police have said.

Around 9.15am on Saturday, the boy was attacked at the playpark in Lochee Park, Dundee, by a man of "around 17 to 18".

The man kicked the young boy a number of times before stealing his iPhone 4S and running away towards the park's wooded area with two other men.

Police said the victim was not seriously injured in the attack and have issued descriptions of the three men in a bid to trace the robber.

The attacker is described as being aged about 17 to 18 years of age, of slim build and around 6' 2" in height, with short, dark spiky hair. He was wearing a black and grey coloured long sleeved Voi brand chequered shirt, wine coloured chino trousers and red suede Puma hightop boots with blue laces.

The second man is described as being aged 17, of slim build, 5' 8" in height with shoulder length dark hair. He wore a red coloured zipped Adidas jacket with white stripes, black coloured jeans and white Adidas trainers.

The third male was also described as being 17 years old. He was wearing grey coloured Nike make jogging bottoms and blue Vans trainers and was carrying a black Element rucksack with white straps.
