'Gunfire incident' accused released from custody

A teenager and a woman charged in connection with an alleged firearms incident in Aberdeen have been released from custody.

An 18-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman had been expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday over the alleged incident in Dyce.

Police were called to Pitmedden Road on Thursday afternoon over reports that a weapon had been fired.

The road remained closed overnight but police said there had been no risk to the public.

A Crown office spokeswoman confirmed that the pair had been released from custody.

She said: "After full and careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the report by the procurator fiscal, the accused have been liberated pending further investigation."
