Three women arrested in connection with alleged bank card fraud

Police: Three women have been arrested.

Three women have been arrested following an investigation into alleged bank card fraud.

Strathclyde Police attended three addresses in the Parkhead, Shettleston and Wishaw areas at around 7am on Friday.

Three women aged 23, 32 and 44 have been arrested in connection with two alleged bank fraud crimes that took place in the Newton Mearns and Clarkston areas on January 23 and February 6.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal and the women are expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Fergus Hutcheson of Pollok Police Office said: "This operation shows that Strathclyde Police is absolutely determined to rid our communities of those involved in serious and organised crime, and we will continue to target and focus on those individuals.

"I would encourage members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to report and incidents or suspicious activity to their local police office or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
