A man armed with a hammer has robbed a Subway sandwich store in Glasgow.

Two shop workers were left "badly shaken" when they were threatened by the armed robber at the store on Dumbarton Road on Sunday.

The robber, thought to be around 30, made off with a three-figure sum of money from the store close to Partick Cross at around 7.45pm on Sunday.

Two staff, aged 23 and 24, were left inunjured but badly shaken by the incident.

The man is described as being white, around 6ft 2in tall and heavily built. He was wearing a dark hooded top, dark blue jeans, black gloves and white trainers.

Detective constable Jim McLauchlan, said: "At the time of the robbery last night, Dumbarton Road would have been busy with both motorists and pedestrians and I have no doubt that people must have seen this man acting suspiciously in the local area before and after the robbery.

"I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that may assist police enquiries to contact the West End police office on 0141 5323500 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
