A man is to stand trial accused of threatening to burn an 11-year-old girl after "presenting a lit blowtorch at her".
Gordon Dempsey is alleged to have "behaved in a threatening or abusive manner" in Fairfield Road, Leven, by lighting the blowtorch and showing it to two girls - aged 11 and 12 - then threatening to burn the 11-year-old with it.
He is further accused of threatening to "kill and cut" the same child.
Prosecutors further allege Dempsey repeatedly posted messages on Facebook threatening violence and to damage property.
Dempsey, 24, from Kirkcaldy, denies three charges of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
The offences are said to have taken place on November 20, November 26 and between December 9 and December 11 last year.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges at Cupar Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Sheriff Derek O'Carroll continued the case until March when Dempsey will stand trial.
