A barman who was caught with more than 2000 images of children being sexually abused has been jailed for 16 months.
Carl Peplow, 41, was arrested after a police raid on the Wheatsheaf Inn in Kilmaurs, Ayrshire, where he lived and worked.
The former train driver fled during the search and was arrested later that night, Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard.
Peplow, who was already banned from accessing the internet, told police: "I have been a fool."
He admitted possessing indecent images of children in March 2011.The pornography was found on four memory cards hidden in a christening tankard under Peplow's bed.
Peplow was previously jailed for breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order in 2010. He was given 30 months at Wolverhampton Crown Court after being convicted of several child pornography offences.
He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.
