People in the Highlands are being warned not to fall for a loan scam which seems "too good to be true".
Cold callers from a company called Bestukloan.co.uk have been offering pre-approved loans to people in Thurso.
The cold caller has offered a loan with a low interest rate but asked for a cash transfer in order to release the funds.
People taking up the offer have handed over their cash, but never received any money from the company.
A Northern Constabulary spokesman said: "These offers are very attractive and may seem too good to be true.
"Members of the public are advised against entering into such an agreement and are requested to contact their local police station should they require any further advice or assistance in relation to this matter."
Anyone needing advice can contact Thurso police station on 01847 893222 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
