A nursery worker at a council-run childcare centre has been charged with child sex and pornography offences.
Alexander Mortimer is accused of two counts of sexual assault of a young child, two counts of taking an indecent photograph of a child and one count of possessing an indecent photograph of a child.
The 28-year-old, from Rutherglen in South Lanarkshire, is a nursery nurse in the local authority's area.
He made no plea or declaration when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody.
Parents and staff at the centre have been told about the charges, a council spokeswoman said.
She added: "We are continuing to work with parents and staff at the nursery to give them all the support we can as the police investigation continues."
