A 16-year-old Lithuanian school boy has beaten off competition from hundreds of amateur cooks to win a chance to train with one of the world's top chefs.
On Tuesday sixth year pupil Vytas Brizinskas met with chef Albert Roux, the chef who opened the first Michelin starred restaurant in the country.
He now has two weeks to make an impression on Roux.
As part of Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight, 11 top chefs pledged to devote their time to young enthusiasts.
Vytas' dream came true when his application letter struck a chord with the French chef.
Mr Roux said: "What I look for is attitude and that young man has attititude.
"He is nicely clean, good shoes, he wipes up. It's an attitude and after that, teaching becomes very easy."
