Residents in Edinburgh are being asked for their views on developing a strip of land next to the Union Canal.

The former brewery at Fountainbridge has been empty since 2005 when the plant closed down and the building has since been demolished.

On Saturday, residents will be able to view plans for the site and give their opinion.

It is proposed to build a new secondary school at the site, while other plans are for a watersports centre at Meggetland and a development which would see 20 berths for houseboats.

Some of the plans put forward in the past include a mixture of student flats, retail and office space.
