Two men are expected to appear in court after they allegedly set fire to a house during a six-hour siege.
The men, aged 24 and 22, were arrested after the incident in the Glasgow suburb of Newton Mearns on Saturday night.
They are accused of barricading themselves in a house in Moorhill Crescent after a party there, before causing substantial damage to the property by setting it alight. Strathclyde Fire and Rescue extinguished the blaze.
One of the men was removed from the house at around 9.30pm after emergency services were called out at around 5pm before the second suspect left it at 11pm.
The 50-year-old man who lived at the house suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the Southern General Hospital where he was treated and released after the fire.
His 22-year-old friend, who was also in the house at the time, was allegedly seriously assaulted during the disturbance. He was treated and released from the Victoria Infirmary.
Strathclyde Police said the 24-year-old suspect was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley suffering from smoke inhalation and minor injuries after the blaze, before he was released after treatment.
The other accused also suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock and then later transferred to the Western Infirmary where he is still detained.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal after the alleged siege.
Both of the men are expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.
