A teenager who died after his car veered into a tree near Wick has been named.
Christopher Durrand, 17, died when the Ford Fiesta left the B876 road between Castletown and Reiss at about 8pm on Sunday.
His passenger, 17-year-old Graham Sutherland was released from the wreckage and taken to Caithness General Hospital with head and spinal injuries.
His condition is described as stable.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The road was closed for more than 12 hours before being reopened at 10am on Monday.
