A teenager has died after being hit by a vehicle as he crossed a road in East Kilbride.
The 18-year-old, who has not yet been named, was struck while crossing the Queensway dual carriageway at around 6.30pm on Saturday.
Paramedics rushed the man to Hairmyres Hospital but he later died.
Earlier on Saturday, a 40-year-old man was killed in a crash in Ayrshire.
The man was driving a van which collided with a car on the Mossblown road at around 5.15pm.
The driver of the car was rushed to Ayr Hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.
