A 13-year-old boy has gone missing from his home in the Highlands leading to a major police search.
Police are appealing for sightings of Imhotep Booth who has been reported missing from the Halkirk area, near Thurso.
He was last seen at around 9am on Friday at his home in what police described as a remote part of the Aultnabreac area.
Police dog handlers took part in the search but were forced to stop as darkness fell on Friday evening.
A major search was planned for first light on Saturday and police asked anyone who may have seen Imhotep to contact them.
He is described as being 5ft 4ins, of slim build, cropped brown hair and is noticably suntanned after having just returned from holiday. He is believed to be wearing a navy fleece top, green wellington boots, blue tracksuit trousers with a white stripe and may be carrying a grey Reebok rucksack.
