A shop worker was left "extremely shaken" by an attempted robbery at a Kinross store.
A man, in his early 20s, walked into the Kinross Services store and threatened a member of staff working alone at around 11.40pm on Wednesday.
The man tried to rob the store of a quantity of money before running off.
The staff worker was not injured but left "extremely shaken" by the incident at the shop at Turfhills, Kinross, a Tayside Police spokesman said.
Police said the suspect is in his early 20s, around 5'11" tall, of slim build and with short brown hair. At the time he was wearing a black jacket with white marks on the sleeves.
Police officers with sniffer dogs attended at the scene but the attacker has not yet been traced.
A Tayside Police spokeswoman said: "The staff member was extremely shaken by the incident but was not injured.
"Any sightings of the suspect should be reported to Tayside Police directly, and members of the public are asked not to approach him."
